Italy and Europe are open to the US! (7/1/21)
While the CDC and WHO still recommend vaccination before traveling, there are options for travelers for entry: proof of recovery from the virus, a negative test result, or proof of vaccine.
I visited Rome and mid-June, and it was amazing: light crowds, beautiful weather and mostly normal day-to-day business. They still require masks indoors and on public transportation, but they’re back to full capacity for dining and they’re in great spirits.
Multiple times I heard restaurant staff, shopkeepers and tour guides thank us for coming. They are delighted to welcome back the Americans they missed so much. Here’s what’s coming up yet this year:
September – this is a great time to visit Rome and the Amalfi Coast!
Fall weather, light crowds and a glorious welcome from our Italian friends who have missed us. Our 11-day small-group tour will include some of Rome’s greatest monuments, local dishes, and wine tastings. October – Luxury sailing trip through the islands of Croatia
This 7-day cruise aboard a large yacht will sail from Dubrovnik to Split, with an option to add two nights in Split. Partnering with Sail Croatia to offer this adventure. $2,100/pp/double occupancy Oct 6-13 (sold out, sorry!)
