This unique tour will be an opportunity to join in the fun – or watch in awe – as locals celebrate their Winter carnivals. The parades, costumes and themes can blend pre‑Christian rituals, mythology, seasonal symbolism and a fun dose of community theater. They typically occur before Lent, mostly in February. We’ll stay in both Bilbao and San Sebastian again to experience Basque culture – including food, wine, cider and history – along with the music and festivities we’ve celebrated in the western U.S. for decades.
This small-group trip includes:
Accommodations, private drivers, food tour, most meals (with wine, naturally), wine and cider tastings, private guided tours, cooking lesson, private boat (pending conditions), concerts, contests and bonfires! Add some exclusive local experiences, with your own private, 24/7 guide, and you will be set for a February to remember.
